Syracuse’s leading tackler Marlowe Wax will return to Orange for fifth season

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse linebacker Marlowe Wax, who has led the Orange in tackles the past two seasons, will return to the Orange next season and play under new coach Fran Brown.

Wax finished this past season with 110 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and four forced fumbles, all of which led the Orange. He also had four sacks.

Despite the strong numbers and All-ACC honors, Wax was not graded particularly well by Pro Football Focus this past season. He had the 9th-best grade among SU defenders with at least 200 snaps according to PFF, although he was ranked among the team’s top tacklers.
