ThisIsCNY.com, and its related social channels, is a joint effort between Advance Media New York, publisher of syracuse.com and The Post-Standard, and CenterState CEO. The goal is to highlight the quality of life here, especially for local businesses to use for prospective employees, but the content will also appeal to people who already live here.
“One goal we have is to tell stories that persuade talented people from across the nation to move here, but we also want to encourage Syracuse residents to stay here,” said Katrina Tulloch, Editor-in-Chief for This is CNY. “Our stories and social media push aggressive regional pride and local love. Anyone who lives here, or wants to live here, will find useful news and content to enjoy.”
Katrina adds the site will cover a wide variety of topics, focusing on all the positive attributes of life in CNY: “Culture, business development, dining, outdoor activities, real estate, schools, and emerging job opportunities with local employers. We also feature feel-good stories and videos showing what it’s like to live and work in Central New York. And we’re highlighting small local businesses. Our whole region benefits when all our local efforts do well, so we’re always on the hunt for great stories about business growth and creative people.”
As someone who grew up in the Albany area and first came here for college at Syracuse’s Newhouse school, Katrina understands what it’s like to make a temporary move that ends up being more permanent. “I loved it (here).
