Syracuse, N.Y. — Two people were injured by gunfire in separate shootings in Syracuse within an hour Saturday night, city police said.
Both victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover, police said.
The first shooting happened about 9:48 p.m. at the Parkside Commons apartment complex, 201 Westmoreland Ave. Police said a 23-year-old man had been shot in the stomach at least once.ย He was taken to Upstate Medical University Hospital.
Less than 45 minutes later, at 10:31 p.m., police responded to a shooting at the James Geddes Housing complex, on Schoeneck Court. A 15-year-old boy has been shot at least once in both legs, police said. He was also taken to Upstate.
No arrests have been made in either shooting. Police said they are investigating and ask anyone with information to call the police department at (315) 442-5222.
Those shootings were at least the second and third in Syracuse in under 24 hours. About 11:30 p.m. Friday, a 15-year-old boy was injured by a shotgun in Onondaga Park. That teen, too, was taken to Upstate and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
