An upcoming Syracuse movie production is seeking a house that will appear in the film.
“Plainclothes,” an indie project written and directed by Syracuse local Carmen Emmi, is scheduled for production in February and March. The film’s story centers on a promising undercover officer assigned to lure and arrest gay men, who then defies professional orders when he falls in love with a target.
Producers said they’re asking the Central New York community to assist in finding a modest residential home for use in March.
“Ideally, the home should exude richness, warmth, and vibrancy. Primary criteria include a large sliding glass door in either the dining room or living room, coupled with an older, non-up-to-date kitchen,” a press release said. “The ambiance that is sought after is reminiscent of a grandmother’s or older aunt’s home, a place where holiday gatherings and family reunions are hosted. Original touches throughout the house are highly desirable.”
The production must have access to both the interior and exterior of the property for filming purposes. Homeowners also must be willing to vacate the the premises for approximately 4-6 days.
Homeowners will be compensated, according to the press release. A certificate of insurance safeguarding the space will also be provided.
If interested in having your home be used in the film, please email locations manager Emily Campbell at [email protected]. Include photos of both the interior and exterior of your home, along with your contact information.
“Plainclothes” is a fully insured production working in collaboration with the Syracuse Film Office and the New York State Governor’s Office of Motion Pictures and Television. A release date has not been announced.
