Michael Gomes won the 800-meter Emerging Elite run this weekend at the Nike Indoor Nationals in New York. He was one of several athletes from Central New York who took part in the competition, which took place at the Armory Track.
Gomes, representing the Wildcats TC team, turned in a personal record time of 1 minute 55.54 seconds.
