Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse athletic director John Wildhack said at a press conference earlier this week that he would prefer SU football’s next coach to have experience as a head coach or coordinator at the Power-Five level on his resume.
Wildhack also mentioned the need of having Northeast connections and the “critically, critically important” element of knowing special teams.
I brought one of college football’s best national insiders, Bruce Feldman from The Athletic, on “Syracuse Sports” to examine a number of candidates that fit that profile.
Is SU’s next head coach on Feldman’s list of potential candidates?
Bruce and I also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the Syracuse job in 2023 and what he has heard since the job came on the market when Dino Babers was fired on Sunday.
