Orchard Park, N.Y. — Day one of Buffalo Bills training camp offered a hint at who might end up starting the season at middle linebacker in lieu of Tremaine Edmunds.
Tyrel Dodson opened camp as the starter at MLB. And veteran linebacker Von Miller said he thought Dodson flourished alongside linebacker Matt Milano.
“Competition is always good, and starting the day off at training camp, I think T. Dot was out there today with Matt Milano, and they looked well. Competition, especially inside the leaders of the defense, is always good. I’m excited to see what they do.”

So I’m excited about the players we have at that position, and I look forward to watching them develop here.”
Most NFL teams have their middle linebacker call plays. McDermott was asked if that would be the case for the Bills or if someone else on the defense would take control of the play calling.
“Ideally, I’d like it to be the middle linebacker, but you know, I’m open if it isn’t,” he said. “And if it isn’t,…
