#1 Hobart skates past Middlebury 8-1, wins 7th straight

The top-ranked Hobart College hockey team raced past Middlebury College 8-1 in a non-conference contest at The Cooler this afternoon. With their seventh straight win, the Statesmen are now 11-2-0 on the season.

Sophomoreย Kahlil Fontanaย led the way for the Statesmen with four assists. He was one of seven Hobart skaters to finish with multipoint games. Sophomoresย Tanner Danielsย andย Tanner Hartmanย had two goals each. Sophomoreย Damon Beaverย played all 60 minutes in goal, making 29 saves.

Jake Horoho started in goal for the Panthers (1-6-2) and made 14 saves in just over 31 minutes of work. Andrew Heinze came on in relief and made 23 stops. Jin Lee scored the Middlebury goal.

  • Hobart has won 28 straight games at The Cooler. It is the longest active streak in the nation and tied for the second longest in NCAA Division III history.
