Bills stunned by Broncos in ugly Monday Night Football loss (full coverage)

It turned out to be a very ugly Monday night at Highmark Stadium for the Buffalo Bills as they fell 24-22 to the Denver Broncos, dropping to 5-5 on the season.

It looked as if Buffalo was going to squeak out a win when Josh Allen found the end zone from six yards out with 1:55 remaining in regulation, putting the Bills on top 22-21.

However, that was not the case as Denver answered on the ensuing drive. The Broncos used a pass interference penalty against Buffalo cornerback Taron Johnson to move into field goal range, where kicker Will Lutz missed an initial 43-yard try but was given another opportunity after the Bills had 12 men on the field. After the penalty, Lutz made Buffalo pay as he converted on a 36-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Broncos the wild 24-22 victory.

The Bills were shutout in the first quarter and trailed 15-8 at halftime. Dalton Kincaid hauled in the first touchdown on a 22-yard pass from Allen with 3:41 left in the second quarter. Gabe Davis followed that with a two-point conversion with a catch in the back of the end zone. Latavius Murray scored Buffaloโ€™s second TD on a three-yard run with 6:45 to go in the third quarter.

James Cook led the team in rushing with 12 carries for 109 yards despite being benched for 16 plays for fumbling on the first play of the game. He later fumbled again but recovered it.

Allen completed 15-of-26 passes for 177 yards with one TD and two interceptions. He also ran four times for 13 yards and a score.

Gabe Davis led all receivers in yards with 56 on two catches. Stefon Diggs was held to three catches for 34 yards.

The Bills, who have lost three of their last four, will try to get back over .500 when they face the New York Jets on Sunday at 4:25 p.m.
