The Lyons Lions state title run came to an end on Friday night as they fell 56-45 to Section IV’s Moravia in the Class C Final Four at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.
Lyons led 15-10 after eight minutes, but things changed in the second quarter as Moravia went on a run to take a four-point lead at halftime and never looked back. The Lions scored just 16 points in the second and third quarters combined and did not have their big man Jamire Johnson for the entire fourth as he fouled out.
Johnson led the Lions with 13 points, eight of which came in the first half. Dezmen Bell notched 10 points, while Stephen LeBrecht and Devyn Willams added 9 and 7 points, respectively. Mike Briggs contributed four points, and Jaheim Morris chipped in two.
RADIO REPLAY: FL1’s Paul Russo and Kyle Evans had the call.
Lyons finished the season with a 23-3 record and a 22nd sectional title, the second-most in Section V, trailing East High’s 27.
