Police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a late-evening crash on Mill Street in the city of Canandaigua.
According to a news release, Steven Scherer, 52, of Canandaigua was operating a motorcycle headed north on Mill Street from Beeman Street.
His vehicle left the road and collided with a parked vehicle, resulting in him being ejected.
Police say he suffered critical, life-threatening injuries. While he was originally transported to Thompson Hospital, police say Scherer was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.
At this time, he remains in critical condition. The investigation remains active, but police believe alcohol was a contributor.
The Canandaigua Police Department was assisted at the scene by the sheriff’s office, Canandaigua Emergency Squad, and Canandaigua Fire Department.
