Canandaigua sex offender jailed on $5,000 bail after another incident exposing himself to a child

A local sex offender who has been arrested several times in recent weeks for exposing himself to young children in Canandaigua-area stores has been arrested again.

Paul Goodrell, 54, of Canandaigua was arrested on December 22 for public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrest was the result of an incident that happened on December 9, according to deputies, who say that around 3 p.m. Goodrell exposed himself to a 7-year-old girl.

That incident took place at an address on State Route 364.

He was committed to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.

Additionally, the sheriffโ€™s office has information showing that Goodrell was in the area of Eastview Mall on December 6. Anyone with information about similar incidents on that date or at that location, are asked to contact the sheriffโ€™s office at (585) 394-4560.

This is the latest in a string of incidents involving Goodrell. He was arrested for exposing himself to a 7-year-old at a grocery store in Canandaigua, and doing so in a separate incident on December 6 at another grocery store.

In the previous incidents he was released on his own recognizance.
