Police arrested two Canandaigua residents following a child endangerment investigation in the city last month.
Natasha Smith, 40, and Dean Williams, 40, both of Canandaigua were charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child following a disturbance on Tillotson Street.
Smith and Williams are accused of engaging in a physical altercation in front of two children. And in the process of that incident, Williams struck one of the children when they intervened.
The child was attempted to break up the fight between the adults when they were struck.
When police attempted to take both into custody โ Smith then fled and was charged with obstruction.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
