Child suffering from drug impairment taken to hospital after CPS investigation: Seneca Falls duo face endangerment, obstruction charges

The Seneca Falls Police Department says two people are in custody following a CPS investigation that resulted in a child being hospitalized in Clifton Springs.

On February 9 SFPD officers along with Seneca County Child Protective Services, arrested Angelia Ely, 32, and Earl Heath, 42, for child endangerment and obstructing governmental administration.

The arrest occurred after law enforcement was prevented from accessing a child in immediate danger at a residence, as ordered by the Seneca County Family Court.

Upon entering the home, officers found a child in need of urgent medical care due to substance impairment and discovered cocaine near another child.

Ely and Heath were taken into custody and will appear in local court at a later date on the charges. The affected child was taken to Clifton Springs Hospital for treatment.
