Clyde-Savannah teens accused of assaulting student will be in court later today

The four teenage boys, previously involved in an alleged assault at Clyde Savannah High School, are scheduled to return to court on Wednesday.

The incident, involving members of the schoolโ€™s Varsity Football team, allegedly took place in the schoolโ€™s locker room and resulted in the premature ending of the teamโ€™s season.

The accused individuals include two 16-year-olds, a 17-year-old, and a 15-year-old, charged with assaulting a 14-year-old boy. Among the serious charges faced by three of the teens are felony aggravated sexual abuse, first-degree hazing, and forcible touching.

The other 16-year-old, charged with unlawful surveillance, is being referred to family court due to his age at the time of the incident.

The case has sparked community concern, evident in a recent Clyde-Savannah school board meeting. Parents expressed frustration over not being able to discuss their concerns regarding the incident.

The four teens will appear in court later today at 3:30 p.m.
