In a move that underscores the effort of inter-governmental cooperation, Seneca County’s Public Safety Committee approved a proposal to donate surplus sheriff’s office vehicles to the town of Fayette and the village of Interlaken.
This initiative aims to support local law enforcement and municipal services by providing a 2017 Ford Interceptor patrol vehicle to Fayette for code enforcement and a 2018 Ford Explorer to Interlaken’s police department, facilitating their operations and enabling cost savings.
The proposal, which will proceed to the full Board of Supervisors for a final decision in March, aligns with the State Comptroller’s Office opinion. By declaring the vehicles as surplus, Seneca County is poised to enhance Fayette and Interlaken’s service capabilities without financial burden.
