Cornell University, others receive non-credible threat via email

Cornell University, alongside several other institutions, received an anonymous email on Friday morning threatening violence, according to Associate Vice President for Public Safety, David Honan. The threat, deemed unsubstantiated by the Cornell University Police (CUPD), has been investigated and considered not credible, ensuring that there is no active threat to the campus community.

In response to the email, which contained hateful language targeting specific groups, Honan emphasized the university’s stance against such threats and the impact they have on the community, particularly affecting Jewish, Israeli, Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim students, faculty, and staff.
