Corning arts programs receive $35,000 in national grants

Two prominent arts programs in Corning, New York, have been awarded a total of $35,000 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Congressman Nick Langworthyโ€™s office announced that American Dance Asylum, Inc. and the Rockwell Museumโ€™s Alley Art Project are the beneficiaries of these grants, aimed at enhancing arts and culture in the region.

The Rockwell Museum will utilize its $25,000 grant to create accessible art installations as part of the Alley Art Project. Meanwhile, American Dance Asylum, Inc. will use its $10,000 grant to expand artist residencies, fostering growth and innovation in the dance community. These initiatives are set to enrich the local cultural scene and further establish Corning as a hub for artistic talent and creativity.

Congressman Langworthy expressed pride in supporting arts and cultural initiatives, recognizing their vital role in enriching community life and driving economic development. The NEAโ€™s Grant for Arts Projects program, from which the funds are sourced, aims to bolster the nationโ€™s arts sector by supporting projects that engage the public with the arts and promote arts education.
