Costco has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature Applewood Smoked Master Carve Half Ham Boneless With Natural Juices due to potential listeria contamination.
The recall was triggered after a sample from Sunnyvalley Smoked Meats tested positive for the bacteria. The affected hams were sold in California and Nevada stores from September 26 to September 29 and can be identified with a โUse / Freeze by Jan 20 24โ and โLot # 264 โ 4โ sticker.
While there have been no reported illnesses linked to the recalled product, the U.S. Department of Agricultureโs Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) warns that listeria infections can result in severe symptoms, including fever, muscle aches, and in severe cases, complications during pregnancy or infections in older adults and those with compromised immune systems. Customers who purchased the ham are advised to avoid consumption and return the product to Costco for a full refund.
