The Auburn Doubledays, a franchise in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, is undergoing leadership changes as co-owner and vice president Don Lewis announced his departure from the team.
Lewis, who had been with the team for three years, made the announcement on the Doubledays’ Facebook page, expressing gratitude to Auburn’s community and highlighting his efforts to introduce events like Homerun Halloween and Alive After Fives at the ballpark.
Following Lewis’ exit, Bob Ohmann will assume complete ownership and manage the day-to-day operations of the Doubledays. Lewis and Ohmann were pivotal in continuing competitive baseball in Auburn, especially after the dissolution of the New York-Penn League in 2020. Their collaboration resulted in a lease agreement for Falcon Park, ensuring the Doubledays’ presence in Auburn through at least 2028.
This is the second significant change for the Doubledays this season. Earlier, Manager Ben Julian, who had been with the team since its inaugural PGCBL season, also announced his departure. The team has since appointed Dan Shwam as the new manager.
