Deputies say a drunk driver tried to flee a DWI stop in the town of Rose during the late-evening hours on Thursday.
According to a news release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Adriaan Sergeant, 27, of Lyons was charged with DWI, obstruction, and other vehicle and traffic violations.
It’s alleged that Sergeant attempted to avoid deputies by turning off his lights, pulling into a driveway, then fleeing from the traffic stop as deputies had their emergency lights on and were giving cerbal commands.
He was found to have a BAC of 0.08% and taken into custody without further incident.
The charges will be answered at a later date in Rose Town Court.
