Residents in Sodus reported hearing a loud explosion around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Turns out it was another tree coming down, taking out some power lines with it.
While the winds had largely subsided by that point, the ground remained soft and even the light 20-30 mph gusts that were being reported were enough to take out a tree, which prompted a power surge for some in the area.
Tammy Smith House shared the following photos from the area, which showed the hefty response from local first responders and power crews.
