The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of Bayron Heberto Martinez Perez, a 34-year-old resident of Fulton, following a traffic stop in the Town of Lyons. Martinez Perez faces charges including Driving While Ability Impaired, moving from lane unsafely, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. The arrest came after deputies observed Martinez Perez’s vehicle nearly hitting a mailbox, prompting a traffic stop.
During the investigation, deputies discovered Martinez Perez in possession of three open cases of alcoholic beverages while driving. He was subjected to field sobriety tests, which he failed, leading to his arrest. Subsequent chemical testing at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office revealed a blood alcohol content of .07%.
Martinez Perez was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released on traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
