Geneva dental employee who stole $20,000 from practice sentenced

A former dental employee at a practice in the Geneva-area has been found guilty, and will spend several months in jail.

Breanna Reed, 30, was sentenced on Thursday to six months in county jail and five years of probation for stealing over $20,000 from the Geneva dental office where she worked. The sentence was issued following a juryโ€™s conviction of Reed on a felony charge of fourth-degree grand larceny, first reported by the Finger Lakes Times.

The theft transpired over four months in 2021, during which Reed held back 11 deposit envelopes.

The dental office, which remains unnamed by the police and prosecutors, conducted a comprehensive investigation leading to Reedโ€™s arrest.

Hastings noted that Reed returned approximately $16,000 to the dental practice.
