Geneva explores year-round farmers market pavilion

Geneva city officials are considering the development of a permanent, year-round facility for a local farmers market, a move that could significantly enhance the cityโ€™s lakefront area.

A study, commissioned in 2023, outlines the potential for the Geneva Market Pavilion, with estimated costs ranging between $9.5 million and $11 million, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

This initiative follows the adoption of the Farmerโ€™s Market and Lakefront Infrastructure Study by the City Council in December, focusing on identifying suitable locations for the market.

The market, a longstanding tradition held at Lakefront Park and previously at the Exchange Street parking lot, could see a new era with this dedicated space.

The study, conducted by Plan Architectural Studio, lays the groundwork for seeking grant funding and developing a comprehensive capital plan. Grants would be sought to make the plan come to life.
