In a heartwarming act of community support, the Geneva First Responders were recently presented with a generous donation of $32,000, a result of the Shields of Honor Gala organized by The Second Impact.
The gala, held on November 3 at Ventosa Vineyards, brought together community members for a night of speakers, live auctions, door prizes, raffles, and music. The funds, raised to honor and support the dedicated service of the Geneva Police and Fire Departments, were equally divided between the two departments. The check presentation, symbolizing the strong bond between the community and its first responders, took place at the Lyons National Bank in Geneva.
The event was spearheaded by Ray Ciancaglini, founder of The Second Impact and a former professional boxer, who has been instrumental in raising awareness about concussion symptoms and promoting honesty in reporting them.
His commitment to supporting first responders was evident in the success of the gala, following his initiative last year to organize fundraising events specifically for police and firemen. The presence of key community figures, including Geneva Police Chief Matt Colton, Fire Chief Dell Parrotta, and other dignitaries, highlighted the collaborative spirit and gratitude of the Geneva community towards their first responders.
