Deputies arrested a Geneva man for trapping and inhumanely killing raccoons in the city.
Willis Bowles Jr., 35, of Geneva is accused of trapping raccoons, then pouring a flammable liquid on them before lighting them on fire.
Authorities say the raccoon was still alive and inside the trap when Bowles set the animal on fire.
A search warrant was obtained and executed, finding evidence that supported the claims.
Bowles was charged with animal cruelty and will appear in city court at a later date.
The Ontario County Sheriffโs Office and Geneva Police Department assisted the Ontario County Humane Society with the investigation.
