Geneva man accused of strangling, assaulting woman on Washington Street

Police have arrested a 29-year-old Geneva man following a fight-in-progress call on Washington Street.

Carrington Lamar Tarver, 29, was charged with second-degree strangulation, second-degree assault, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Tarver is accused of strangling and punching a woman during an attack. The victim suffered injuries to her face and throat.

After investigation, Tarver was also found to be in possession of fentanyl.

The charges will be answered at a later date. The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
