On Tuesday, May 2, between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., Constellation’s R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant is scheduled to carry out a test of its public notification system.
This test will involve activating all 96 sirens within the plant’s 10-mile radius for a duration of three to five minutes.
Additional tests involving individual sirens may take place throughout the day.
Regular testing of Ginna’s siren system is conducted daily, quarterly, and annually by Constellation to ensure the highest level of public safety.
