First responders say a Hornell resident was killed after being struck by a train in Big Flats over the weekend.
The incident happened Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Timothy Galusha, 29, was struck by a Norfolk Southern train that along County Route 64 behind a car dealership.
The accident happened around 4 p.m.
The conductor sounded the horn and attempted to brake. However, Galusha, who was walking on the east side of the tracks may not have heard the train.
Officials said Galusha was living with a family member in the area and was likely walking to work.
The accident remains under investigation.
