A significant traffic jam brought northbound traffic on Interstate 99 in Steuben County to a standstill Friday morning due to an accident involving a horse trailer.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m., about two miles north of the Pennsylvania-New York border. The crash resulted in a miles-long backup, forcing some drivers to exit their vehicles due to the traffic standstill.
The horses involved in the accident were safely removed from the trailer and assessed at the scene, and were observed standing safely along the roadside.
