Ithaca man convicted of 2022 stabbing death, faces life sentence now

An Ithaca man was found guilty on all charges in connection to a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in Downtown Ithaca last year, according to prosecutors.

Jeremiah L. Jordan, 40, was arrested in late October 2022 for the murder of 38-year-old Michael Monroe.

Following a jury trial, Jordan was convicted on Wednesday for second-degree murder, a class A-I felony punishable by up to life imprisonment, and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony which carries a maximum sentence of four years.

The trial was prosecuted by Van Houten with Assistant District Attorney Heidi Paulino, while defense attorneys Michael Perehinec and Joseph Kirby represented Jordan.
