Odell Tindley, a 31-year-old man from Ithaca has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for his involvement in distributing controlled substances, including methamphetamine and cocaine, in Watertown. The sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman, alongside Matthew Scarpino, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Buffalo, and Jefferson County District Attorney Kristyna S. Mills.
Tindley admitted to distributing over two ounces of cocaine on May 25, 2021, and was implicated in arranging for a significant quantity of methamphetamine to be delivered on the same day. The Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force intercepted a vehicle associated with Tindley’s operation, seizing nearly 32 ounces of methamphetamine and approximately a pound of marijuana.
In addition to his federal sentence, Tindley is mandated to a 5-year term of supervised release. His arrest came while he was participating in a drug rehabilitation program as part of his sentencing for a prior state felony drug charge. The case highlights the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations and the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, in combating drug trafficking.
