Ithaca Police were called to Cecil A. Malone Drive near Mary Street on February 12, 2024, around 5:12 PM, following reports of an unconscious person beneath a bridge. Upon arrival, first responders, including the Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance Company, found the individual to be deceased.
The case has drawn in investigators from the Ithaca Police Department and the Tompkins County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. The victim, a 37-year-old male, has not been named as authorities are in the process of notifying his family.
As the investigation continues, the Ithaca Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward, offering anonymity to those who prefer it. The community awaits further details as the autopsy results from the Tompkins County Medical Examiner’s Office are pending.
