Ithaca school bus involved in minor collision; no injuries reported

An Ithaca City School District bus was involved in a minor collision on Friday morning along Cliff Street, Route 96, on Ithacaโ€™s west hill. The incident resulted in no injuries to the students on board, the bus driver, or the driver of the other vehicle involved. According to reports, the collision occurred when the busโ€™s side mirror clipped a window on the car, leading to minor vehicle damage but thankfully no physical harm to any individuals involved.

Following the incident, the bus driver promptly organized for an alternate bus to transport the students to school, ensuring minimal disruption to their day. Upon arrival, the schoolโ€™s nurseโ€™s office conducted checks on all the students to ensure their well-being, demonstrating the districtโ€™s commitment to student safety in the wake of such events.

Despite the accident, Ithaca City School District officials have chosen not to comment on the matter. The swift action taken by the bus driver to continue the studentsโ€™ journey to school, coupled with the lack of injuries, highlights the effectiveness of emergency protocols in place within the school transportation system.
