The airport has received $750,000 in federal funding aimed at expanding its range of services, including the restoration of nonstop flights to Washington D.C.
This development marks a significant boost for the airport, which had ceased offering direct flights to Washington D.C. in September 2022. In efforts to re-establish this vital air link, the airport is in discussions with United Airlines to introduce three nonstop flights to Dulles Airport, with plans to commence operations by early next year.
The restored service is anticipated to greatly benefit the local community and institutions such as Cornell University and Ithaca College, enhancing travel options for business, education, and leisure.
