James Rowson named Yankees new hitting coach

It didn’t take long for the New York Yankees to find their new hitting coach.

James Rowson was named the team’s hitting coach on Monday, replacing Sean Casey, who decided not to return due to family reasons.

Rowson, 47, spent last season as the Detroit Tigers assistant hitting coach. Before that, he was the Minnesota Twins hitting coach for three years.

Rowson also spent six years as New York’s minor league hitting coordinator from 2006-2011 and worked with Aaron Judge.
