After over a century of golfing, Lakeview Golf & Country Club in Owasco is set for a transformation.
The historic course has been bought for $1.45 million by the nonprofit West Lake Art Conservation Center, according to reporting by The Citizen this week.
The center plans to transform the clubโs 13,500-square-foot clubhouse into its new headquarters, while most of the 250-acre property will be sold to the town of Owasco to be developed into a park and nature preserve, complete with hiking trails.
The centerโs purchase was made possible through a generous donation from the Pleasant T. Rowland Foundation, a notable supporter of West Lake.
