Police announced the arrest of an Elmira resident in the city of Canandaigua after an indictment was handed up for menacing a police officer.
Thomas Johnson, 34, was charged with one count of menacing a police officer.
The indictment stemmed from an incident on May 1, which happened around 1:30 p.m. on South Main Street.
Heโs accused of menacing several police officers with what appeared to be a handgun during the incident.
The charge is a Class D violent felony and carries a sentence range of 2-7 years based on a variety of factors.
He was processed without incident and transported to the Ontario County jail for arraignment.
