Man flees Junius larceny, later taken into custody and held at jail due to criminal history

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a local man on several charges after he fled the scene of a crime-in-progress.

On December 8 around 6 p.m. deputies were sent to a larceny complaint in the town of Junius. Upon arrival and after some investigation, the suspect, identified as Austin M Molina-Alonzo, age 27, was taken into custody.

It was reported that Molina-Alonzo was walking around the business with merchandise in his arms. Once the employees turned their back, he ran out the door without paying.

Molina-Alonzo fled the area in a vehicle but with the employee’s accurate description deputies were able to identify the vehicle he was driving.

Deputies then made a traffic stop and Molina-Alonzo was taken into custody without incident.

During the subsequent traffic stop Molina-Alonzo was found to be in possession of drugs. Furthermore, while at the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office deputies located another victim’s Driver’s License and Social Security inside Molina-Alonzo wallet.

The Victim was contacted and wished to press additional Charges.

Molina-Alonzo was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was held at the Seneca County Jail due to criminal history, deputies added.
