Manhunt in Clyde for Galen resident facing federal weapons charges ends near Fastrac

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has provided new information on a manhunt that happened Friday afternoon resulting in one arrest.

Deputies, with the assistance of New York State Police, say a Galen man was taken into custody after a manhunt started at the Fastrac on State Route 414.

Timothy Caves Jr., 38, was spotted in his truck in the parking lot of Fastrac and took off on foot after being confronted by police.

He was apprehended a short time later by deputies using a K-9.

Caves had an outstanding warrant in federal court for a felony weapons charge. He was transported to the Monroe County Jail for processing.
