If there’s one thing the New York Mets needed heading into the offseason, it was quality bullpen arms.
On Thursday night, the club agreed to a one-year, $2-million contract with right-handed reliever Jorge López, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported.
López, 30, pitched for the Minnesota Twins, Miami Marlins, and Baltimore Orioles in 2023. He struggled, posting a 5.95 ERA over 59 innings.
However, López had a career year with Baltimore in 2022, recording a 2.54 ERA and earning a spot on the American League All-Star team.
