Mets bounce back with win over Cubs

The New York Mets got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Citi Field, evening the four-game series at a game apiece.

DJ Stewart crushed a three-run home run in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie, which was the difference in the game as the Mets bullpen closed it out.

Pete Alonso went 1-for-3 and drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly in the first.

Sean Manaea tossed five innings of one-run ball while walking four and striking out three. Sean Reid-Foley, Reed Garrett, Adam Ottavino, and Jorgรฉ Lรณpez combined to allow just one run over four innings.

The Mets will send Josรฉ Buttรณ to the mound on Wednesday as they look to make it two straight wins. The first pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m.
