Mets drop series opener to Angels as offense struggles

The New York Mets (59-70) dropped the series opener (62-67) to the Los Angeles Angels, 3-1, on Friday night at Citi Field.

Francisco Lindor drove in New Yorkโ€™s only run in the third inning with his 24th home run of the season. Aside from that, the Mets had just three hits and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Kodai Senga tossed six innings of two-run ball while striking out 10, two shy of his season high.

The Mets will try to bounce back and even the series on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Carlos Carrasco will take the ball.
