Mets erase four-run deficit, edge Rangers for seventh straight win

The New York Mets (35-37) just keep rolling.

On Tuesday night at Globe Life Field, they erased a four-run deficit to defeat the Texas Rangers (33-40), 7-6, and extend their win streak to a season-high seven games.

Francisco Alvarez tied the game in the eighth with a two-run double, and Pete Alonso gave the Mets the lead in the ninth with an RBI double before Edwin Dรญaz recorded his seventh save of the season.

Mark Vientos and Brandon Nimmo crushed solo home runs, while Francisco Lindor and Harrison Bader had run-scoring groundouts.

Luis Severino put the Mets in a hole after allowing six runs over 6.1 innings, including five in the fifth. Jake Diekman and Reed Garrett posted scoreless outings.

The Mets will try to complete the three-game sweep of the Rangers on Wednesday at 8:05 p.m. Sean Manaea will take the ball as he looks to build off his strong start last time out.
