Mets swept by Orioles, fall 11 games under .500

The New York Mets (50-61) were blanked 2-0 by the Baltimore Orioles (70-42) on Sunday, falling to 11 games under .500 for the first time since 2019.ย 

New York was held to just four hits, three of which were singles. They went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position, leaving nine on base.ย 

Jose Quintana gave up both of Baltimoreโ€™s runs over six innings while walking two and striking out six.ย 

Trevor Gott and Adam Ottavino recorded scoreless appearances.ย 

The Mets will head home to begin a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday at 7:10 pm.ย
