Mets take two of three from Giants

The New York Mets (38-46) secured a series victory with an 8-4 win over the San Francisco Giants (46-38) on Sunday night at Citi Field.

Pete Alonso recorded two hits and three RBI, including his 25th home run of the season. Tommy Pham collected three hits and drove in a run. Jeff McNeil, Starling Marte, and Mark Canha also plated runs.

David Peterson allowed one run over four innings of work. Jeff Brigham gave up three runs in relief, while Grant Hartwig, Dominic Leone, Brooks Raley, Adam Ottavino, and David Robertson had scoreless outings.

The Mets will get the day off Monday before they head to Arizona for a three-game series against the Diamondbacks, starting Tuesday at 4:10 p.m.
