The New York Mets have hired David Stearns as their president of baseball operations, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported Tuesday.
Stearns, 38, is the first president of baseball operations in Mets history, ranking him above general manager Billy Eppler.
He had previously worked for the Milwaukee Brewers as their general manager and president of baseball operations from 2015 until his resignation in October 2022.
Stearns will begin his new role when the 2023 regular season ends.
