Mets win streak snapped with loss to White Sox

The New York Mets (45-51) had their three-game win streak snapped on Thursday afternoon with a 6-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox (41-57) in the series finale at Citi Field.

Jose Quintana made his Mets debut and allowed two runs over five innings while striking out three, but did not receive much run support.

Omar Narvaez belted his first home run of the season to put New York on the board in the fifth and make it a one-run game, but the Metsโ€™ bullpen (Drew Smith) essentially put the game out of reach by coming on and giving up four runs (one earned).

Pete Alonso plated a run with a two-out single in the eighth, the teamโ€™s fourth and final hit of the game.

The Mets will head to Boston to begin a three-game series with the Red Sox, starting Friday at 7:10 p.m.
