Motel assault leads to charges against Geneva man

Authorities in Ontario County say a Geneva man faces assault and weapons charges after an apparently violent incident at a motel in Hopewell.

According to a news release, on Friday around 11 p.m. Jurrell Thompson, 32, was arrested for second-degree assault, a felony, as well as criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

He was taken into custody at an address on County Road 10 in the town of Hopewell, with the assistance of police from Canandaigua and New York State Police.

Heโ€™s accused in an assault that took place at the D&D Motel on County Road 50 in Hopewell. Additional details about the incident were not released.

Thompson will answer the charges at a later date.
